With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant patients are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure. The Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-needy patients. In Lebanon, volunteers are raising funds for transplant patients like local child Michayla Nelson.
Born on January 29, 2001, Michayla was diagnosed with a rare liver cancer called Hepatoblastomia in August 2001. She was later diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the liver, and doctors at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, performed a life-saving liver transplant on June 17, 2008. An estimated $35,000 is being raised by Lebanon volunteers.

2. By Check: You can mail a check to COTA by printing and filling out a donation form. The donation form contains the information on where to mail the check. It should be made out to COTA and please be sure to put Michayla Nelson's name on the memo line of the check. Also you can also give your check directly to a campaign volunteer.
